Nicole Ari Parker was born in New York City. The actress is American actor in stage and films. Contractor was born in Mumbai and was a resident of Nigeria over seven years, experienced a variety of trips and experiences in the world of culture at an early age. At the age of seven to nine, the young lady was a student at boarding schools in London. Her family then moved to Toronto which she stayed in for most of her childhood. Contractor was a classical ballet student in Toronto. Additionally, she excelled academically. She went to the Etobicoke School of the Arts. It is a special high school that teaches arts where she did not only learn about theater, but also dance as well. Contractor was 16 when she realized that acting would be her career. She had danced for a decade. Following her graduation from high school Contractor received a scholarship from the University of Toronto to pursue a dual major in psychology and sociology. Additionally, she earned a master's degree in Theater. Contractor with a degree in sociology, having spent a year in university was invited to audition at an open call for Pericles which was held at the highly acclaimed Stratford Shakespeare Festival, [Ontario Canadain Canada] and was selected for the part. Her performance was lauded throughout the 92 productions which she was a part of. She won the award in 2002 for the most outstanding production of the Year, as judged by Canadian critics. Contractor was given the chance to enroll in Stratford's conservatory course, in which a select eight men as well as four women can be accepted for a 20-week crash course on classical theater which she was eager to take. She was scheduled to perform in the following season's production was confirmed. She was cast in the role of Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
